MF Clip Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 24, 2026
This policy describes how MF Clip (the "App"), a clipboard management application developed and provided by MeeFa K.K. (the "Company"), handles user data. The App is designed to keep all user data on the user's own device; no data is transmitted to the Company's servers. This policy formalizes that design and is published to satisfy the review requirements of the App Store and the Microsoft Store.
1. Data We Collect and Store
1.1 Data stored on your device
The App stores the following information locally on your device only. This data is not transmitted outside your device (neither to the Company nor to any third party):
- Clipboard history: text, images, rich text (HTML / RTF), URLs, color codes, and similar content you have copied.
- Favorites: clipboard items you explicitly saved, together with the folder structure you defined.
- Settings: shortcut assignments, image storage mode, plan-related preferences, and other configuration values.
- Source-app icons: OS-provided application icons cached locally for display next to history rows.
- OCR results: text extracted from images, produced only when you explicitly run OCR.
All of the above is stored inside the sandboxed data directory the OS assigns to the App. When you uninstall the App through normal OS procedures, the sandboxed data is removed along with it.
1.2 Data sent to our servers
None. The App does not send any data to our servers, including usage analytics, crash reports, or telemetry.
2. Third-Party Services
2.1 In-App Purchases via the App Store / Microsoft Store
Payment processing for the App's paid plans (Monthly / Lifetime) is handled exclusively through the In-App Purchase mechanisms provided by Apple Inc. (App Store) and Microsoft Corporation (Microsoft Store).
- Payment details (credit card numbers, billing addresses, etc.) are collected and managed directly by Apple or Microsoft. The Company does not receive them.
- The Company receives only the entitlement information required to unlock paid features (for example, an anonymized transaction identifier indicating that a purchase is active).
- Personal information handling by Apple and Microsoft is governed by their own privacy policies:
2.2 Other outbound communication
Aside from the purchase processing described above, the App does not communicate with any external server. Software updates are delivered through the standard update channels provided by the App Store and the Microsoft Store.
3. OS Permissions
The App may request the following permissions from the operating system to provide its features. Each permission is requested with your explicit consent, and the data involved never leaves your device.
| Permission | Purpose | When requested |
|---|---|---|
| Clipboard access | Recording clipboard history | Always — this is the App's core function |
| Accessibility (macOS) | Synthesizing paste keystrokes for auto-paste | When you invoke the auto-paste feature |
| Screen Recording (macOS) | Capturing screen regions and saving them to history | When you use the screen-capture feature |
| Login Items | Launching the App automatically at login | When you enable this in Settings |
You can use the App's core features (viewing and copying clipboard history) without granting these permissions.
4. Data Deletion
- You can delete history entries, favorites, and settings at any time from within the App.
- Uninstalling the App through standard OS procedures deletes all sandboxed data.
- Purchase history and subscription state are managed by Apple / Microsoft. You can review and cancel subscriptions through their respective account settings.
5. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 years of age. The Company does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
6. Tracking
The App does not collect or use advertising identifiers (IDFA / AAID). It does not use cookies or web beacons. Our App Store "App Privacy" submission accordingly declares that the App collects no data.
7. Security
The App applies the following standard protective measures:
- Data is stored inside the OS-provided sandbox for the App, limiting access from other applications.
- Password managers and similar apps can signal "do not record this clipboard content" via pasteboard metadata (macOS
NSPasteboardContentType.org.nspasteboard.ConcealedType, WindowsExcludeClipboardContentFromMonitorProcessing/CanIncludeInClipboardHistory). The App honors these signals and skips such entries. - You can further restrict what gets recorded through user-defined regular expression filters and source-application filters.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may revise this policy in response to legal changes or new features. When we make material changes, we will announce them in the App's release notes or on the Company website.
