Frequently Asked Questions
Clipboard history is not being recorded
- Make sure MF Clip is running (the menu-bar / tray icon is visible).
- On macOS, clipboard monitoring is polling-based and starts automatically — there is no special permission for it. If nothing is recorded, quit and relaunch the App.
- Some apps mark their clipboard content as confidential (password managers, etc.). MF Clip honors that signal and will skip those entries by design.
- Check Settings → Filters: a regex or source-application filter you set earlier may be excluding the content.
Auto-paste does not work (macOS)
- Auto-paste synthesizes a Cmd+V keystroke, which requires the Accessibility permission.
- Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility and enable MF Clip.
- If MF Clip is already listed but still not working, toggle it off and on again, then relaunch the App.
Screen capture does not work (macOS)
- The screen-capture feature requires the Screen Recording permission.
- Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording and enable MF Clip.
- macOS requires a relaunch after granting this permission.
Global shortcuts do not fire
- Another app may have already registered the same shortcut. Open Settings → Shortcuts and assign a different combination.
- By default, only the "open window" shortcut is bound; other actions are unbound until you opt in.
How do I cancel my subscription?
- Mac App Store: open the App Store app → click your name (bottom left) → Account Settings → Subscriptions → Manage.
- Microsoft Store: sign in to your Microsoft account at account.microsoft.com and manage MF Clip from the Services & subscriptions page.
- The Lifetime plan is a one-time purchase and has nothing to cancel.
I bought the Lifetime plan but features are still locked
- Open the App Store / Microsoft Store and run "Restore Purchases" from MF Clip's Settings → Plan.
- Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID / Microsoft account you used for the purchase.
Where is my data stored? Can I move it to another machine?
- All data lives inside the OS-provided sandbox directory for the App. Nothing is uploaded to our servers.
- Cross-device sync is not provided. If you need to migrate, copy the App's data directory while MF Clip is closed on both machines.
- For details, see the Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my history?
- Right-click an entry to delete a single item, or use Settings → Data → "Clear all history" to wipe everything.
- Uninstalling the App removes the sandboxed data along with it.
Privacy
MF Clip does not send any data to our servers — no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reports. See the full Privacy Policy.
